Vasavi's 40th birthday was a delight to plan, even in just the short two weeks we had to put it all together! Vasavi's husband, Phani, wanted to throw an intimate party for his wife with 40 guests and I was so excited to bring this vision to life. With a palette of soft pink and wood accents from Luxe Event Rentals, it was easy to create this elegant boho chic vibe. The vintage rentals created a warm, welcoming space for this outdoor celebration.
The florals were arranged by BelleVue Floral Co, showcasing flowing eucalyptus and pastel pink roses. The pampas grass added to the bohemian feel and was highlighted in the seating area under a large macramé hanging. The florals also made an appearance alongside the balloon garden, created by Bijoux Balloons cascading around the 40 Marquee display, installed by Love Marquee Letters. This art piece, if you will, created a beautiful focal point overlooking the couple's view of Dublin and was a great location for photo opportunities!
In addition to the usual wine and champagne, the birthday girl had two signature cocktails that helped pull in some of the pink elements from the party. Festive candy adorned each signature cocktail for the celebration; a rosé cocktail with a cotton candy garnish as well as a pink margarita with a rock sugar stir stick! Who says you can’t have candy in a cocktail?
Vasavis’ birthday soiree was catered by one of my favorite vendors, Charming Fig Catering, who creates gorgeous (and delicious!) grazing tables, and it was sprinkled with beautiful pastel roses for a pop of color. This display of artisan cheese, crackers, dried fruit and nuts, is a great option for guests and doubles as a décor piece!
The guests dined along one long farmhouse table, with a pink linen runner and white taper candles sitting inside brass candlesticks all from Luxe Event Rentals. Gathering people at one table, even if it’s not as many guests as originally planned, is something truly special. The bohemian florals alongside lit candles completed the look for this intimate setting.
The birthday girl had not one, but two celebratory cakes. Given that COVID-19 made it impossible to throw a bash, Phani gave Vasavis a COVID-19 cake, decorated with a mask, to highlight the craziness of celebrating a birthday during a global pandemic. The other cake was a three tiered pink cake, decorated with free spirited flowers and pops of gold leaf. Both of these beauties were created by Confections by Jules.
This was a beautiful party to plan. All of the vendors were fabulous as always and it was a joy to get to help celebrate Vasavi during the pandemic. Guests listened to music from Amos Pro and enjoyed the sunset over the marquee. All in all it was a great night!
